In August 2016, I am starting a new research group in the University of Minnesota Department of Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development (GCD). The research in our laboratory will be directed towards better understanding nucleic acid folding and function in order to 1) elucidate unanticipated roles for nucleic acids in vivo and 2) develop novel nucleic acid-based catalysis, imaging, analytical, and diagnostic technologies.

Ph.D students can join the lab through the University’s joint program in Molecular, Cellular, Developmental Biology and Genetics (MCDB&G), a joint program between GCD and the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics (BMBB). Information about applying to the MCDB&G program can be found here. Applications for next Fall are accepted through December 1st. Prospective postdocs should contact me directly.
